The joy of camping in the build up season

   A beautiful billabong in the King Leopold Ranges, lined with silver paperbark trees.

The scent of honey was almost overpowering, and the air filled with umming bees and insects, the excited Lorikeets, and other little birds like honeyeaters and flycatchers. It was magic to listen to.

At night the fruitbats all had their chance to party.

The cool deep waters were covered with fallen blossoms and around the banks the blue waterlillies were starting to bloom
